Windows 11 offers several features as optional features. That is, many features are not part of Windows 11 by default. However, you can add them to your Windows 11 installation if you need them. One of them is Wireless Display.
This guide shows you how to install Wireless Display on Windows 11 PCs.
Please note that you need a Miracast-supported device in order to project from your PC or to your PC.
Install Wireless Display app on Windows 11 laptop
Step 1: Open Windows 11 Settings. There are several ways to open Settings, the easiest being the Windows logo + I hotkey. If you prefer using the mouse, right-click the Windows logo button on the taskbar and then click Settings to open the same.
Step 2: On the left pane of Settings, click System. Now, on the right side, click Optional features.
Step 3: Here, click the View features button next to Add an optional feature to see all available optional features.
Step 4: Scroll down the list to see the Wireless Display entry. Select the checkbox and then click the Next button.
Step 5: Finally, click the Add button to begin installing Wireless Display. Note that Windows 11 might take up to 30 minutes to complete installing the Wireless Display app.
At the end of the installation, you will be asked to reboot your PC once. Please restart your computer once.
You may now launch the Wireless Display app via search to begin using it.
Uninstall Wireless Display app from Windows 11
Step 1: Go to Windows 11 Settings > System > Optional features page.
Step 2: The Added features section all installed optional features on your Windows 11 PC. Scroll down the list to see Wireless Display.
Step 3: Click on Wireless Display to see the Remove button. Click the Remove button to begin removing the Wireless Display.
If asked, restart your computer once to complete uninstalling the Wireless Display.
