With default installation settings, when you install the AMD Radeon graphics driver on your Windows 11/10 PC, it automatically installs the AMD Software (Adrenalin Edition) as well.
While the AMD Software Adrenalin Edition helps you change various graphics settings, many users do not like to use it and want to install only the AMD video driver.
Until a few years ago, installing an AMD graphics driver without the software was a challenging task as the driver installer did not offer an option to install only the driver. Luckily, the recent AMD Radeon graphics drivers provide an option to install only the required driver.
This guide shows you how to install the AMD graphics driver without the software on a Windows 11/10 PC.
Install AMD graphics driver without AMD software on Windows 11/10 PC
Step 1: Download the required AMD graphics driver from the official AMD website. Please ensure that you are downloading the correct driver by typing your processor (in the case of on-board graphics) or graphics card model number.
Step 2: Launch the AMD graphics driver installer file by double-clicking on it.
Step 3: When you get the following dialog, click Additional options to see available installation types. Select the Driver only option from the Install Type drop-down menu. By default, the Full setup option is selected.
NOTE: The select dialog box also offers an option to change the default install location. You may change it by clicking the Browse button and then selecting a different location.
Step 4: You may now click the Next or Install button to install the AMD graphics driver without the software. The driver should be installed in a few seconds. Your PC’s screen might flicker during the driver installation.
NOTE: By default, the option “Allow AMD to collect information to contribute to the installer development” is selected. If you do not want AMD to collect information, please select the “Don’t Allow AMD to collect information to contribute to the installer development” option.
