IMPORTANT: Only users with Microsoft Office 365 Family and Personal subscriptions can access the Copilot in Office applications.

Turn on Microsoft Copilot in Office Excel
Step 1: Open the Excel app.
Step 2: Click the File menu and then click Options.
NOTE: If “Options” is not visible, click More and then click Options.
Step 3: On the left pane, click Copilot to see available settings and options.
Step 4: Check the Enable Copilot box and then click the OK button. That’s it!
Step 5: Restart the Excel program, if the Copilot option does not show up immediately.
If clicking the Copilot icon throws the “Use Office connected experiences” error, you need to follow the directions in Method 2 as well.

Another way to turn on Copilot in Office Excel
Step 1: In the Office Excel app, click the File menu and then click Accounts.
Step 2: Under the Account Privacy section, click the Manage Settings button.
Step 3: Finally, select Turn on experiences that analyze your content, Turn on experiences that download online content, and Turn on all connected experiences options.
Click the OK button.
Step 4: Restart the Excel program. Once done, click the Copilot icon in the Excel ribbon to launch it. If it does not work, please follow the directions in Method 1 (scroll up to see).
