Google Calendar is one of the most used free online calendar services. It’s widely used by computer as well as smartphone users across operating systems.
For iOS and Android, as you might already know, Google offers a dedicated Google Calendar app. Unfortunately, an official Google Calendar app is not available for the Windows operating system.
Because there is no official Google Calendar app for Windows, users need to access the Google Calendar in a web browser. While there is a way to install Google Calendar as an app on Windows 11, most users are not aware of it.
If you often need to access Google Calendar on your Windows 11 computer, you can consider adding Google Calendar to the Outlook New so that you can view Google Calendar in the Outlook New app only. The process is easy and can be done in less than a minute.
The best part is that once you add Google Calendar to the Outlook New app on your Windows 11 PC by following the directions below, the Google Calendar in the Outlook New app will be automatically updated whenever you make any changes to the original Google Calendar.
So, your Google Calendar in the Outlook New app will be up to date. That said, remember that changes made to the Google Calendar in the Outlook New app will not reflect in the original Google Calendar.
This guide shows you how to add Google Calendar to Outlook New in Windows 11.
Add Google Calendar to the New Outlook Calendar on Windows 11 PC
NOTE: These instructions are for the Outlook New app only. Do not use these directions for the old or classic Outlook.
Step 1: On your Windows 11 PC, open the Google Calendar webpage in a web browser of your choice, like Chrome or Edge. Sign in to your Google account.
Step 2: On the left pane of Google Calendar, click on My Calendars to see all your calendars.
Step 3: Hover the mouse pointer over the calendar you want to add to Outlook New (if you have multiple calendars, you need to select and add one at a time), click the three dots and then click Settings and sharing. This will open the Google Calendar settings page.
Step 4: Here scroll down the page to see the Integrate calendar section.
Step 5: You need to copy the link in the Secret address in the iCal format field by clicking the copy button next to it.
Step 6: Now that you have copied your Google Calendar’s link, open the Outlook New app.
Step 7: In the left pane, click Calendar to switch to the Calendar.
Step 8: Click the Add Calendar link present in the left pane to open the Add calendar page.
Step 9: Here, once again, you need to click Subscribe from the web tab.
Step 10: Finally, paste the Google Calendar’s link that you previously copied in the field, type a name for your Google Calendar, select a color and icon, and then click the Import button to add Google Calendar to the Outlook New app.
Note that depending on the size of the data, the Outlook New app might take up to several minutes to import the Google Calendar data, but it is generally done in a few seconds. Once the data import is finished, you will see a “Successfully completed!” message.
If you have multiple calendars in Google Calendar, you need to repeat the directions in Step 3 to Step 10 again to add all of them to Outlook.
Step 11: From now on, the newly added Google Calendar appears on the left pane of the Outlook New app.
NOTE: As said earlier, the imported Google Calendar in the Outlook app on Windows 11 will be automatically updated whenever you make changes to the original Google Calendar via the web or an app on your smartphone.
Remove Google Calendar from Outlook New in Windows 11

Step 2: On the left pane, hover the mouse pointer over the Google Calendar’s name that you want to remove to see the three dots.
Step 3: Click the three dots and then click the Remove option.
Step 4: When asked for the confirmation, click the Remove button. That’s it!
