Software developers have been incorporating artificial intelligence tools into their apps. Microsoft also has been adding its AI tool, Copilot, to all possible apps built into Windows 11.
Outlook New for Windows is the latest app to get the Copilot tool. Yes, the newest version of the Outlook for Windows app now offers the Copilot tool.
The Copilot tool in Outlook can be used to compose a new email, reply to an email, and summarize emails.
Copilot for Outlook definitely is a handy tool for users who need to deal with hundreds of emails each day. For instance, it can draft an email with a few prompts, saving time and maintaining a consistent tone. The summarize feature can help you quickly read long emails.
While Copilot or artificial intelligence tools can be helpful in general, not all users are comfortable using them. In fact, many users do not like using them, especially in an email app, due to privacy concerns.
If you are someone who does not like to use Copilot in the Outlook app, you can disable it. Here is how to disable the Copilot tool in the new Outlook app for Windows 11.

this would be better: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsCopilot, create a DWORD value named “TurnOffWindowsCopilot”, and set its value to 1

This worked to remove copilot from outlook. Thank you although it should not of been automatically installed. Nothing worse than trying to paste something and copilot in the way.
