The Screen Saver feature was invented to stop burn-ins in the Cathode Ray Tube monitors. The CRT monitors, once very popular, have been replaced by superior LCD and LED monitors that are less prone to burn-ins.
What is a screen saver?
A screen saver is a slow animation displayed when your computer is idle. One can set an idle time before the screen saver turns on.
Are screen savers available in Windows 11?
Just like its predecessor, Windows 10, the screen saver feature, although part of Windows 11, is not turned by default as most users no longer use CRT monitors.
While screen savers are no longer essential for LCD screens, you might want to turn on the screen saver when you are away from your PC for privacy reasons. Besides, many users find screen savers cool.
Windows 11 does not include any new screen savers, although you can download and install new screen savers from the web. 3D Text, Blank, Bubbles, Mystify, Photos, and Ribbons are screen savers built into Windows 11.

Note that 3D Text and Photo screen savers offer settings to personalize them. For instance, the 3D Text screen saver lets you show your text or current time, select a font, font, rotation speed, rotation type, and surface style. To customize these screen savers, select them from the drop-down menu and then click the Settings button. The Photos screen saver allows you choose your own photos for the screen saver.
Users who would like to customize other screen savers can use third-party tools available to personalize the built-in screen savers.
