On Windows PCs, Notepad is the default note-taking app. In the recent versions of Windows 11, Notepad is no longer a bare-bone note-taking app.
Notepad in Windows 11 supports tabs, automatically saves notes, checks for spelling mistakes, and also offers autocorrect, which automatically corrects typing mistakes.
Saving a note is simple in Notepad. You just have to click the File menu, click Save, select a location, type a name for the note, and then click the Save button. Because Notepad lets us save notes/files in any location, sometimes, finding a recently created Notepad file might get challenging unless you know the file name.

Find recently created Notepad files in Windows 11
Step 1: Launch the Notepad app.
Step 2: Right-click on the Notepad app icon on the taskbar to open its right-click menu (called Jump list).
Step 3: As you can see in the picture below, the Jump list (right-click menu) displays a list of all recently created/opened Notepad files.
You may click on an entry to open it with Notepad.
Tip: To know the location of a Notepad file, right-click on an entry and then click Open file location.

Step 1: In the Start menu or taskbar search field, type Notepad.
Step 2: The search flyout should display all recently created/opened Notepad files on the right side under the Recent section.
