On Windows 11 computers, the Scan app is the default app used to scan documents and pictures connected to PCs. The classic Windows Fax and Scan is no longer available by default, although it’s possible to install it as an optional feature.
One of the advantages of the Scan app over the classic Windows Fax and Scan is that it lets you save scanned documents/pictures in the PDF file format.
While the Scan app is pretty good, at times, it might fail to detect your connected scanner or show errors while scanning a document/picture.
If you are encountering issues with the Scan app, you can consider resetting and repairing it. Like other modern apps, the Scan app can also be reset or repaired right from the Settings app.
This guide shows you how to reset and repair the Scan app to fix issues on a Windows 11 PC.
Repair the Scan app in Windows 11
Step 1: Perform a right-click on the Windows logo icon (start button) and then click the Settings option to open the same.
